Day 4

We have landed and there are a lot of people standing on the beach looking very amazed at us. We've got more food now thankfully. Conditions are a lot better now. More water, food. There is a very wide, swift moving river here. The water is very nice from it. I think I'm going to like it here.

Day 3

de Soto here. The voyage over here has been really rough. Very little food left and I think we might almost be at the land we've been searching for. We have brought 250 soldiers, lots of seeds to plant for food and  we did have a lot of animals but we kind of ate them all. Land Ho!!! This is what we've been searching for.

Day 2: On my way to the new world

July 23,1514
I'm on my way to the new world. It’s been a little rough getting everything together. I plan to sail down to the tip of Florida and up around the Mississippi river. This could be very challenging and I’m a little nervous because I’m sailing with the governor of Panama.
Here is a picture of my course. Follow the red line.

Day 1: Introduction

July 27, 1513
Hi, I'm Hernando de Soto. I was born in Barcarrota,Spain.I live in a Hidalgo family. This means that I live somewhere there is a lot of hardship and poverty. Many people who are born into this class look for fortune and success elsewhere. I have a very strong interest in exploring. I've hear about a new land called The Indies. I've heard it's a very nice but hard place to live. Not very much has been explored but I plan to explore.
